Jelena Mila

Jelena Mila is a Swedish -Serbian actress and producer who has worked extensively in film and in theatre, like at The Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm or The National Theatre in Belgrade. She worked and is currently working with the famous play writers, actors and directors.

She received her master degree in acting from Faculty for Drama Art at Belgrade University in 1993. Since graduation, she has been working as an actress and producer at National Theatres in Serbia and Montenegro, Atelje 212 Belgrade and in Sweden at The Royal Dramatic Theatre Stockholm, City Theatre Stockholm and on Film and Television internationally. Experienced in both the creative and business ends of the theatre and film industry through her own production company, M.A.M.M.A. production, she has written, directed and produced several theatre and film plays. In addition to this, she has founded and successfully run Balkan New Film Festival BaNeFF in Sweden and Nordic countries. Mila has written several dramas including one major film project for children Bojke Pojke. Her latest published drama after the theatre play with the same title is Iron Warrioresses – Women Volunteers in First World War and other Balkan Wars was given in four languages in Serbian, English, Swedish and Norwegian. The theatre play became the film Iron Warrioresses that had premiere in Stockholm, April 2018.

In music, poetry and movement she always finds a stable ground for her entire creative work. ”Ljeviska” project is the beginning of one new artistic journey rooted in the primal music and straight poetry.

She lives and works in Belgrade and in Stockholm.
